NASCAR.com brings you Shop Shots

ATLANTA -- NASCAR.com, the official site of NASCAR, launches a new feature Tuesday that allows fans to get an inside look into one of the industry's leading racecar manufacturer shops -- Body Dynamics Racing Inc.

This new enhancement gives fans an opportunity to watch a race car being built from beginning to end. There are five live Web cams placed around the facility where fans can watch the racecars begin to take form.

This new element will bring the fans even closer to the NASCAR action by allowing them to come into the facility and catch a glimpse of the stock cars being designed the week before the race.

"Working with Body Dynamics Racing Inc. gives NASCAR.com and fans a special behind the scenes look into one of the largest manufacturing shops in the nation," says Drew Reifenberger, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Turner Sports Interactive. "This is just another example of NASCAR.com giving fans more behind-the-scenes access than ever before."

"The drama of NASCAR unfolds seven days a week," said Jeffrey Pollack, NASCAR Managing Director of New Media. "And this new feature is a great example of how NASCAR.com helps our fans get inside our races and so much more."

Turner Sports Interactive acquired all of NASCAR's Internet rights in October 2000 and became the exclusive producer of NASCAR.com in January 2001.

The site re-launched on Feb. 9. Turner Sports Interactive bases its NASCAR.com staff in Atlanta, with additional personnel in Charlotte, Daytona Beach and at the tracks, giving them the ability to break news stories on-site around the clock.

NASCAR.com will also provide users with some of the industry's best information resources through AOL and CNN/Sports Illustrated.

Turner Sports Inc., an AOL Time Warner Company, presents some of the best and most popular sporting events worldwide, and is a leader in televised sports programming.

With events airing on four networks -- TBS Superstation, TNT, Turner South and CNN/Sports Illustrated -- the Turner Sports' line-up includes the NBA, NASCAR and NASCAR.com, Wimbledon, Atlanta Braves baseball, Atlanta Thrashers hockey, Atlanta Hawks basketball, professional golf, figure skating, WUSA Soccer and the Goodwill Games.
