Thanks You NASCAR, you have proven to be what I always believed you were. A caring sanctioning Body. You have renewed my faith in your organization and I promise you one thing for sure, I will always appreciate and support NASCAR especially since you have decided to postpone the race and Honor Our Fallen Brothers & Sisters. -- Tom

I think NASCAR should do a race for all the people who suffered through this past week's events, and have all proceeds donated to the Red Cross and the peoples families. -- Sherry

I understand the thoughts behind the decision to cancel the race on Sunday the 16th for respect for the tragedy on the east coast and feel somewhat guilty for writing this e-mail.
Personally, I need a change of topic on TV as I can only imagine many Americans do. Close to every channel continually shows over and over again the planes crashing into the WTC towers. President Bush
himself stated that Americans must get back to their normal daily lives if that's possible.
God bless America and everything we stand for. -- Scott

Just wanted to inform you that it's pretty darn cold and snowy in November in New Hampshire. Are you planning to have snow plow blades attached to the cars? Nov. 23, That's really nuts. -- Jim

I can't believe you've canceled the race till November. Do you have any idea how cold it is in November? You folks have no intention of racing in New Hampshire in November. Wouldn't it have made more sense to push all the races back one week? I just think NASCAR dropped the ball on this one. -- Sara

Thank you NASCAR, for canceling the race on Sunday. I found it very inappropriate to even THINK about watching a race while America mourns. Your decision is appreciated. -- Tammy

I live in New England and there is a very good chance of snow being on the ground. What will they do then? -- Chris

Being an avid race car fan, I looked forward to the races this weekend.
However, NASCAR did the correct and sane thing by canceling all races or postponing to another date. -- Slayton

I support NASCAR's decision in postponing the New Hampshire race. That is a correct decision. However, rescheduling that race for the "last" race of the season is wrong. Many fans have purchased tickets to Atlanta and made plans for attending the last race of the year this year with the hopes that it will be Atlanta.
To change that is as wrong as running the race this weekend would have been. I understand that NASCAR had a tough decision to make, but the race should be cancelled completely and money refunded. -- Felecia

Hi. I realize the schedule is busy. But what is NASCAR thinking of when you schedule a race in N.H. in Nov.? Maybe you NASCAR realizes the type of weather we have, or is this just a way not to have to refund ticket money? People do not have that day off, plus I feel real bad for the drivers. -- Barbara

Being from NH my entire life I think you need to rethink how you reschedule the NH race. Though I understand the postponement of the race I think you'd be better served to switch race weekends with a track the in the southern part of the eastern seaboard.
It's way too cold in NH on Nov. 23 to have a race that day. Trust me as I went to a Patriots game a few years ago on the second Sunday in November and froze my you-know-what off. -- Melissa

My family and I are NASCAR fans and we understand and agree with you postponing Sundays race at NHIS, but having the race in November in New England? Have you ever been to New England in November?
I would like to know what's supposed to happen if there are weather problems and the race is cancelled in November. Then what? -- Debra

I am upset about you postponing this weekends race it might have helped a lot of people take their minds off of this tragic event for just a little while. -- Beth

Week after week, we watch the brave and heroic efforts of the drivers and teams of NASCAR. They are our heroes. Thank you to our heroes for acknowledging, saluting, and mourning the heroes of the "attack on America." The courage and pain these people endure is beyond measure. -- Joyce

I fully understand canceling the race this weekend in Loudon but November 23 what the heck is NASCAR thinking? Obviously Mike Helton has never been to New England in November. Not only is it thanksgiving weekend -- it is also called snow season. -- Scott Avery

I am absolutely appalled that NASCAR buckled under to terrorists and postponed the NH event. For some reason I expected better from NASCAR. -- Greg

I am a proud American career firefighter.
I have attended almost every NASCAR event at NHIS since 1995. I hold tickets to the September 16, 2001 event as well. I totally applaud the decision to not hold the event this coming weekend.
I also strongly feel that the event should be canceled instead of the announced plans to hold the event in November. I feel it would be a small sacrifice made by all involved in light of our Country's recent tragedy. Thank You and God bless the United States of America. -- Michael

Hopefully I'm venting to the right people. My question/comments are as follows: I can understand NASCAR canceling the NH 300, but why not move it to Oct 7th? It would seem to be a little warmer in NC on Nov 23rd than it would be in NH on that date. Is NASCAR supplying the snowplows to clear the track in NH on Nov. 23rd? -- Jim

I can't believe that you fell to the mercy of the terrorists by canceling the NHIS race this weekend.
Instead of having the race and showing them YOU ARE NOT AFRAID of them, you could have had a memorial service at the track in memory of all those who have died and their families.
Shame on you! -- Kay

Racing in New Hampshire in late November is crazy. NASCAR should just delete the race from the schedule. Nov. 23 is the day after thanksgiving and a lot of people have alternate plans, including team and track personnel. -- Keith

Let me begin by saying that I totally agree with the postponement of this weekend's race. However, do you people realize that in New England in late November we usually have snow!!!! Also, many people work the day after Thanksgiving, myself included. Saturday the 24th would be a better date. Please rethink this. -- Rebecca

I just had to write and tell you how absolutely disgusted I am that the race this weekend has been postponed until after the Atlanta race.
We, as Americans, need to show these people that they can't stop our daily lives and activities. When I heard that sporting events were being cancelled, I was confident that NASCAR would have enough sense to run the race on Sunday.
I sure don't want to end out the year with a New Hampshire race. I'm sure most of the fans and drivers would agree with me. If you're going to cheat the American people out of a race this weekend, then cancel the race and be done with it. This idea of adding it to the end of the schedule is ridiculous. Thanks you for listening to my comments, and God Bless America. -- Curtis
