Marcis to Busch?
Rumor has it that NASCAR Winston Cup veteran Dave Marcis is contemplating a move to the Busch Series.
With the dwindling numbers of cars in the Busch Series field thus far in 2001, Marcis, who struggles to make the Winston Cup field with an under-funded team, would stand a much better chance of making every race.
Marcis has been a full time Winston Cup competitor for more than 30 years, and started a record 32 straight Daytona 500s before missing the field this year.
TKO'd?
TKO Motorsports, a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series operation, has apparently shut down, according an engineer at PPI Motorsports that is close to the team. They have not filed an entry for Homestead.
David Starr, who is splitting time between the Busch and Truck Series in 2001, qualified in the top ten for Daytona, but was sent to the rear of the field after NASCAR found the No. 41 Dodge to have a motor irregularity. They were sent to the rear of the field, and subsequently got in an early wreck.
