Martin's NASCAR career is one of unflagging determination to reach each goal he sets. A driver who is a threat to win on superspeedways, short tracks and road courses, Martin won three consecutive NASCAR Winston Cup races (1993-95) at the Watkins Glen (N.Y.) road course to become the first NASCAR driver in the track's history to accomplish that feat. Martin is the sixth driver in NASCAR Winston Cup's modern era (1972-present) to win four consecutive NASCAR Winston Cup races (Watkins Glen, Michigan Speedway, Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway and Darlington (S.C.) Raceway). In 1990, he was selected to the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association (AARWBA) All-America Team. Formerly a competitor on the Busch Series, Martin ended his career there as the series' career victories leader with 45. In the NASCAR Winston Cup ranks, Martin has finished in the top-10 in points for 12 straight years, or since 1989.
