LAS VEGAS -- - Ricky Hendrick sustained an injury to his right shoulder during the Sam's Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday.

Hendrick, driver of the No. 5 GMAC Chevrolet, was injured on a lap 119 crash with Tony Raines. Both cars came together going into Turn 1 with the right side of the Hendrick car slamming hard into the outside wall.

A brief fire broke out after contact was made. The fire was quickly extinguished.

Hendrick was taken to the infield medical center where it was discovered he had a dislocated right shoulder. The shoulder was re-set and Hendrick then was taken to nearby University Medical Center by his dad and team owner Rick Hendrick, where he was checked out and released.

Hendrick returned to his Charlotte, N.C. home on Saturday evening and canceled his planned test this week at Darlington Raceway.

Hendrick will race when the Busch Series returns to action again on March 16 at Darlington.
