CONCORD, N.C. -- Lyndon Amick will compete for ppc Racing in the Mr. Goodcents 300 NASCAR Busch Series race at Kansas Speedway next month.

Amick, who began the year driving for Carroll Racing in the No. 26 Chevrolet, will drive a No. 15 Ford for ppc as a teammate to Jason Keller and Scott Riggs. This will be the first of two races Amick will drive for the team. The second will be determined depending on sponsorship.

Amick, the 1996 Goody's Dash Series champion, hasn't done much racing since his release from Carroll. He's hoping this chance will help him get back into a steady ride.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity," Amick said. "I feel so fortunate to be a part of a great organization like ppc Racing. My hope is that I'll be able to achieve the level of success that I know I am capable of, which, in turn, may open doors for other opportunities within the Busch or Craftsman Truck Series.

"Whether with ppc Racing or another organization, this race at Kansas Speedway is the next step in building my career."

The ppc Busch Series team garnered a series championship with Jeff Green in 2000 before he moved to Richard Childress Racing in the Winston Cup Series. Keller, driver of the No. 57 Ford, is second in Busch points with four trips to Victory Lane. Riggs, driver of the No. 10 Ford, is fourth in the points, with two wins.

The team is looking to add a third driver in 2003, although no permanent driver has been announced.

"We are extremely excited to have Lyndon join ppc Racing for the upcoming event at Kansas," said Greg Pollex, co-owner of the team. "Lyndon is an experienced driver who demonstrates our team's core values with his professionalism and competitive nature."

"Should primary and associate sponsorships come available for a third team, we will add one. I think with each car we put on the track, we make our entire organization stronger."
