The Buzz: Ganassi announcement at RIR?

The sponsorship deal for next year is done between Chip Ganassi Racing and ChevronTexaco. But there has been no official word on a pilot for the expected third Ganassi team.

Word is that Ganassi may make the plans for driver, sponsor and car number known at Richmond International Raceway in two weeks.

Ricky Rudd was rumored to be headed to Ganassi with Havoline and the No. 28, but that went out the window when Rudd signed with the Wood brothers last week to drive their No. 21 Ford starting next year.
