DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR officials announced today that Robert Kocher, crew chief for the No. 00 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, has been fined $500 for rules infractions prior to last Saturday's race at South Boston (Va.) Speedway.

During the weekend's initial inspection process, Ryan McGlynn's No. 00 Chevrolet was found to have two aluminum drive plates. NASCAR rules require the drive plates be made of steel. Kocher was fined $250 for each plate.

Kocher was fined under Section 12-4-A of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rule book: "...actions detrimental to stock car racing..." and Section 12-4-Q: Any determination by NASCAR Officials that parts and/or equipment used in the Event do not conform to NASCAR rules."
