CONCORD, N.C. -- Derrike Cope and the No. 57 CLR Ford team have parted ways.
Cope attempted to make the NASCAR Winston Cup Series race at Las Vegas this month, but failed to make the starting lineup. The agreement between the team and driver this season was for a limited schedule.
“Derrike and CLR have mutually agreed to part ways and to pursue other avenues,” a statement on Cope’s personal website said Tuesday.
Two-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday will attempt to qualify the No. 57 Ford for this weekend's MBNA America 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
The winner of the Daytona 500 in 1990, Cope is also a television analyst on Fox Sports Net.
