CONCORD, N.C. -- Ryan Newman blew past Jeff Green in Turn 4 of the first lap Saturday night to win the No Bull Sprint and earn a slot in The Winston for the first time in his career.

After a round of pit stops following the Winston Open, Green’s pit crew got him out ahead of the field, enabling him to lead the field to the green flag in the No Bull Sprint. He opened up a lengthy advantage on the restart, but Newman quickly caught and passed him.

He never looked back, leading the entire 16-lap affair. By far the class of the field, Newman opened up as much as a three-second advantage en route to victory.

"That was a good day today," said crew chief Matt Borland. "The pit crew did an awesome job with a 14-second stop. That got us out there where we could win."

Kyle Petty finished second, followed by Ken Schrader, Hut Stricklin and Jimmy Spencer.
