CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Ron Hornaday will drive BAM Racing's No. 49 Dodge at this weekend's Tropicana 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Hornaday previously drove BAM's car at the Winston Open and Coca-Cola Racing Family 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway in May. He has served as a consultant to the team most of this season.

BAM took off the month of June to massage its cars and do some wind tunnel testing. Team manager Eddie Jones said following a test session at Daytona that the team had learned some valuable lessons. Hornaday drove in that test in place of regular driver Shawna Robinson.

At the Pepsi 400 last weekend Robinson qualified 27th for her second race at Daytona this season. She finished 40th after her car suffered rear end failure.

Jones was unavailable for comment Tuesday afternoon on the one-race change.
