Marlin, Johnson make engine changes

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Sterling Marlin and Jimmie Johnson will start at the rear of the field in the Sirius Satellite Radio at The Glen because of engine changes.

Both teams made the changes after the first practice session on Friday. Marlin was seen working under the car along with the rest of the No. 40 Coors team as they made the change.

After Happy Hour, Kevin Harvick and Joe Varde changed engines as well. Harvick had qualified sixth.

NASCAR rules mandate that if a team changes the engine in the primary anytime after the first inspection process, the car must start at the rear of the field.
