THE RACE TRACK:

South Boston Speedway is a .400-mile paved asphalt speedway. The track has 12-degree banking in all four turns, with 10-degree banking on the 360-foot front and back straightaways. South Boston is the smallest track the tour has visited annually since the .4375-mile Louisville Motor Speedway hosted an event won by Jay Sauter on Oct. 8, 1999. The NCTS's shortest facility (April 15, 1995) was the now-closed .333-mile Saugus (Calif.) Speedway.
