LaJoie's lap of 133.215 mph around the five-turn, one-mile Nazareth Speedway oval was more than a mile an hour faster than Compton, earning him his second Bud Pole of the season and ninth of his career.
LaJoie also won the Bud Pole for the Pepsi 300 at Nashville Superspeedway.
Compton has never won a Bud Pole in 45 Busch Series starts.
The rest of the top 10 for Sunday's race includes Ron Hornaday and Mike Bliss, who ran the exact same speed (132.100 mph), Scott Riggs, defending race winner Jason Keller, Johnny Sauter, Ashton Lewis Jr., David Stremme and Kasey Kahne.
Current points leader David Green will start 12th.
