Scott Wimmer: MBNA 200 preview

From Team Press Release May 28, 2003
10:09 AM EDT (1409 GMT)

DOVER, Del. -- Scott Wimmer returns to the site where he scored his first NASCAR Busch Series win, last fall at Dover International Speedway.

"Winning my first Busch race last fall was just amazing," said Wimmer. "I have always run well at Dover, even in my very first Busch start, so it wasn't all that surprising that it was the track where I scored my first win. There is something about Dover that allowed me to adapt to it quickly and was successful right out of the box. It probably helps that it is a concrete track where I also tend to run well."

"Dover is a fast race track where things tend to happen very quickly," said Wimmer. "Staying out of trouble is important there, because it is easy to get caught up in someone else's mess. The fastest way around the track is the bottom groove, but usually after Winston Cup practice, the groove moves around a lot, so the track becomes more forgiving in the sense that you can run different lines around the it whether it is the high or low groove."

Wimmer will sport a new paint scheme this weekend at Dover with the new summer blockbuster movie, 2 Fast 2 Furious, as the primary sponsor along with Stacker 2 on Wimmer's Chevrolet.

The Stacker 2/Stamina RX Racing team is taking a brand new car to Dover.
