David Stremme: TrimSpa Dream Body 250 preview

From Team Press Release July 24, 2003
2:03 PM EDT (1803 GMT)

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Some 35 years ago horseracing was king of the mountain at Pikes Peak. But today, a different kind of "horse" rules the mountain: horsepower. And if Team Yellow and driver David Stremme have their way, that horse will be draped in Swamp Holly Orange as it takes the checkered flag.

This weekend Team Yellow heads into the TripSpa Dream Body 250 ranked 4th in owner's points, hoping to improve on last week's 23rd place finish in New Hampshire. A blown engine with 14 laps to go in the race dashed the hopes of producing the team's 13th top-10 performance, and resulted in a 23rd place finish for the team.

Team Yellow also hopes to improve on its last performance at Pikes Peak in 2001 when it finished 21st.

Driver David Stremme said, "I'm really excited to be back behind the wheel of the Team Yellow Dodge. After last week, we are hungry for a strong, competitive finish to prove we are still one of the best teams - if not the best - in the Busch series. I have heard great things about Pikes Peak and I cannot wait to get out there and drive it. This would be a great time for us to win and I'm going to do everything I can to see that happen. This race is presented by Dodge so it is only fitting for the No. 1 Dodge to be sitting in victory lane!"
