FORT WORTH, Texas -- Rumor has it that winner Ryan Newman's Dodge was under weight in post-race inspection following Sunday's Samsung/RadioShack 500, mainly because the radiator ran dry during the final stages of the race when a hose failed.
Reportedly, NASCAR allowed the crew to fill the car up with water and pass it back over the scales a second time, where it met the minimum weight.
It's unknown how much longer Newman's car could have gone without fluid. However, he had enough juice left in the engine to do a series of burnouts after his victory.
