The Buzz: Biffle to get Busch Series sponsor

December 10, 2003
5:26 PM EST (2226 GMT)

Greg Biffle's NASCAR Busch Series team is set to announce a sponsor for 2004, and the announcement could come as soon as Friday.

A source close to the driver said the sponsorship deal is "all done" and will include all 34 races in 2004. The sponsor supposedly is a communications company that is new to NASCAR. The car will carry No. 60, the same number Biffle used to win the Busch Series championship in 2002.

Also, Brad Parrott has been moved from Jeff Burton's Nextel Cup team to be Biffle's Busch Series crew chief. Parrott crew chiefed for Burton's Busch team in 2002, winning five of 14 races.

Biffle got some more welcome news this week when the Milwaukee Mile announced it was moving its June Busch race from Sunday to Saturday night. That means the previous conflict with the Nextel Cup race at Infineon Raceway is no more, and Biffle can indeed run all 34 Busch races -- to go along with all 36 Cup races -- in 2004.
