DARLINGTON, S.C. -- Teri MacDonald has announced her intention at Darlington Raceway to run for Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
She joins Tina Gordon in the seven-driver field for the award; marking the first time in the history of any of NASCAR's three national series that more than one female contested the rookie of the year race.
MacDonald, 39, of Whitby, Ontario, is the younger sister of veteran stock car racer Randy MacDonald, who has made 69 Truck Series starts over the last eight seasons.
Teri MacDonald and Gordon are competing with Carl Edwards, Doug Keller, Randy Briggs, T.J. Bell and Jody Lavender in the rookie of the year competition.
