10:14 AM EDT (1414 GMT)

ROYAL OAK, Mich. -- The condition of veteran NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver and crew chief Bob Keselowski has improved and he is scheduled to be released from William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak sometime Thursday.

"Bob has improved so much that I just got word that he is being released from the hospital today," said Keselowski's wife, Kay, in a Thursday morning phone interview from the K-Automotive team shop in Lake Orion, MI. "Bob's feeling much better and he's looking forward to watching the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Martinsville on television Saturday."

Keselowski has been hospitalized since Wednesday, April 2. The No. 29 Power Stroke Diesel/Oil Mate Ford team will compete in the Truck Series race at Martinsville this weekend under the direction of Keselowski's brother, Ron.

"Everyone is looking forward to a solid finish at Martinsville this weekend," stated Kay Keselowski. "We have a great team and everyone has really pulled together. It's been a trying time for all of us, but we made it through this and we're going to be stronger than ever."
