Hornaday back in MB truck for Charlotte

From Team Press Release May 15, 2003
2:19 PM EDT (1819 GMT)

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- MB Motorsports and marketing partners, Summer Bay Resort and Dave Porter Truck Sales have for the second time this year called upon Ronnie Hornaday III to drive the No. 63 Ford Truck. Hornaday finished 27th at Daytona after a clutch gave up late in the 100-lap race.

"It is great to be working with this team again", commented Hornaday. "These guys have a lot of experience that will help us adapt to the tough Charlotte track. It took a while to get everything going for Charlotte, but I'm looking forward to a good run."

Hornaday has competed in several NASCAR Truck, Busch Grand National, and ARCA races since 1999. He grew up in southern California working on racecars as he helped his grandfather and father, Ron Hornaday Jr. when they raced at the local tracks. At age 15, eight short years ago, Hornaday began his racing career.

"We're delighted to have Ronnie back in the seat again," said Mike Mittler, owner and crew chief. "Ronnie did a good job for us in Daytona. Our core business, Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool, has been very busy, plus family illnesses have kept us from running the last three races. We're wide open now and ready for the busy summer race schedule to begin.

"Several young drivers continue to call looking for a chance to break into NASCAR racing. We have had the good fortune to help several drivers get started and move on to successful Busch and Winston Cup careers. Another talented driver, Blake Mallory, tested with us last week at Charlotte and may run selected races throughout the year."
