Travis Kvapil: MBNA Armed Forces Family 200

From Team Press Release June 2, 2003
2:17 PM EDT (1817 GMT)

DOVER, Del. -- Travis Kvapil, driver of the No. 16 IWX Motor Freight Chevy, finished fifth in the MBNA Armed Forces Family 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Dover International Raceway. It was his fourth top-five finish in six races this season.

"It was a very good run for us," said Kvapil. "At the start, the truck pushed pretty bad and we lost a bunch of spots. We decided to pit early and fix the truck which put us a little behind. We fixed the truck and spent the rest of the day climbing back through the pack to fifth.

"I think the top-five trucks were all about the same," said Kvapil. "I'm just glad we got back up there to race with them. Between Chris (Showalter, crew chief), Dave (Fuge, team manager) and me, we figured the truck out and ran really well at the end."

The finish moves Kvapil from fifth to third in the point standings.
