Stover to drive No. 63 Truck at Memphis

From Team Press Release June 18, 2003
1:14 PM EDT (1714 GMT)

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Rookie driver David Stover will make his NASCAR debut driving the No. 63 Dave Porter Truck Sales / Summer Bay Resort.com Ford in the O'Reilly 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park.

David has been racing for 15 of his 23 years and has accumulated 9 national go-kart championships competing in the IKF, WKA, KART, & SKUSA. More recently, David has successfully driven SCCA Formula Madza open-wheeled cars and earned rookie-of-the-year in late model stock cars at the high-banked challenging I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Mo.

Mixed with his racing career, David attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with honors, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2002.

We're looking forward to David driving our No. 63 Ford Truck," commented owner Mike Mittler. "We have been watching David for a little over a year. During recent testing we were very impressed with his rapid adaptability to handle the heavier truck and his smooth driving style. We will take things one race at a time and evaluate our progress as we go."

MB Motorsports has earned a respected reputation for launching the careers of talented, new drivers into NASCAR racing. Names like current Winston Cup sensation Jamie McMurray and NCTS Raybestos rookie points leader Carl Edwards, plus the late Kenny Irwin Jr. and Tony Roper, all had their NASCAR debut in Mike Mittler / MB Motorsports race trucks. Many other NASCAR drivers have accelerated their racing careers driving for MB Motorsports.

"I'm really excited about working with everyone at MB Motorsports," commented David Stover. "I've been gaining valuable experience in stock cars the past few years and this is the major step I've been looking for. We've tested twice in the past month, so I've had a chance to get the feel of the truck and how it reacts.

"Memphis is similar to Lakeland Speedway in Florida, where I had a good run in the Hooters Cup car this spring. Hopefully, that

experience will help us have a good run at Memphis. We'll try our best."
