Defending race winner Cook gets Indy pole

Terry Cook won the Truck Series Bud Pole at Indianapolis Raceway Park for the second consecutive year with a qualifying speed of 107.777 mph for Friday's Power Stroke Diesel 200.

Cook's Ford posted its second Bud Pole of the season -- the first came in June at The Milwaukee Mile.

Cook is the defending winner at IRP but is looking for his first top-five finish of the 2003 season.

Jason Leffer qualified his Dodge second at 22.931 mph, followed by Chad Chaffin, and Ted Musgrave.

Rookie of the year leader Carl Edwards qualified fifth.

The 36-truck lineup includes the first German national to qualify for a series race. Alex Mueller qualified his Recaro Seats Chevrolet 31st.
