GLADEVILLE, Tenn. -- Hometown boy Chad Chaffin won the Bud Pole for the Federated Auto Parts 200 at Nashville Superspeedway.

Chaffin, driving for Tennessee-based Bobby Hamilton Racing, cut his teeth racing Late Models at the Nashville Fairgrounds.
Chaffin, from nearby Smyrna, Tenn., toured the 1.25-mile track in 156.844 mph, just ahead of Brendan Gaughan, who posted a lap of 156.670.
Only 31 trucks made attempts. The Federated Auto Parts 200 gets under way Friday night at 9 p.m. ET.
