Musgrave, driving the Mopar Performance Dodge, was one of six drivers to erase Ron Hornaday Jr.'s four-year-old lap record of 121.213. Tonight's O'Reilly 200 is the first series race at Bristol since 1999. Joining Musgrave on the front row of the 35-truck field will be series points leader Brendan Gaughan, whose Orleans Hotel Dodge was .097-second off Musgrave's pace at 122.795.
Jon Wood, Terry Cook and Matt Crafton complete the top five starters in the 200-lap event. The fifth place start for Crafton is a personal best on the series -- topping his No. 8 starting position earlier this summer at Kentucky Speedway.
David Starr, Chad Chaffin, Raybestos Rookie leader Carl Edwards and Rick Crawford and Kevin Harvick complete the top-10 starters. Travis Kvapil, who trails Gaughan by seven points entering the 16th of 25 races, will start 12th.
