Kvapil on pole after rain cancels qualifying

RICHMOND, Va. -- Travis Kvapil will start from the pole for Thursday night's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Virginia is for Lovers 200 after rain forced cancellation of qualifying at Richmond International Raceway.

Brendan Gaughan, eight points behind Kvapil in the Craftsman Truck Series standings, will start alongside Kvapil when the 36-truck field rolls off.

Ted Musgrave was the only truck to break 122 mph in Thursday's practice session, turning a lap of 122.705 mph. Five drivers -- Jon Wood, Bobby Hamilton, Robert Pressley, Gaughan and Ken Schrader -- topped the 121 mph barrier.

Defending race winner Tony Stewart was 15th fastest in practice and will start 27th.

Weather may continue to play a factor, as there is a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms Thursday night.
