Setzer, who finished second in the previous two races, started his Chevrolet fifth and passed Andy Houston on the 159th of 203 laps. But he lost several big leads, giving Travis Kvapil a shot when Brendan Gaughan spun his Dodge in the third turn to trigger the race's fifth caution.

But Kvapil spun his Chevrolet's tires on the restart, giving Setzer the room he needed to post the victory.

Setzer, who averaged a race-record 73.337 mph, beat Kvapil by .984 seconds -- about three truck lengths -- on the 0.4-mile oval. He won $44,950.

Ted Musgrave, who wrecked his Dodge in practice and qualified third with no laps on the rebuilt truck, got early adjustments from his pit crew to finish third.

Kvapil cut a 72-point deficit to just 20 as Gaughan finished 15th after starting from the pole. Musgrave, 100 back when the race began, closed within 58 with four races remaining.
