Contreras picks up sponsor Scunci

MIAMI -- Scunci has come aboard as primary sponsor of NASCAR Busch Series team HRT Motorsports for the season finale race at the new Homestead Miami Speedway. Scunci will sponsor the team's entry featuring Carlos Contreras, NASCAR's first Hispanic driver. They join Citizen watch company in supporting Carlos for this last race of the season at the newly remodeled speedway.

Why would a hair accessory company be interested in car racing? "Scunci is committed to the Hispanic community and believes in supporting successful Hispanic individuals. Carlos fits right in with Scunci's message to their consumers to dream, imagine, and create," says Scunci Chairman Neal Menaged. "Carlos believed it was possible for a Hispanic to race in a premiere NASCAR series and he made it happen. We're extremely excited to support him in this endeavor."

Also making an appearance at the race on behalf of Scunci will be Mexican superstar Pilar Montenegro. Montenegro, an award winning singer and soap opera star, exemplifies Scunci's belief in supporting extraordinary talents and the Hispanic people. Comments Pilar, "I couldn't miss out on a chance to be there with Scunci to support a fellow Mexican who is opening doors for more Hispanics to follow. The message is positive, that Hispanics can do anything, and I'm happy to team with Scunci to get the message out." Pilar will not only be at the track for the race, her image will be on the car as well. It marks the first time a Latin Superstar adorns the hood of a NASCAR vehicle.

Models will be at the race showing off Scunci hairstyles created by using Scunci's UStyle Kit which contains seven new hair tools designed to simplify styling with professional results as well as a step-by-step video and styling book. Representatives from Scunci will also be on hand to distribute samples of the UStyle Kit and other Scunci hair products.

As for Contreras, who will be making his first of many media appearances this Thursday giving pace car rides to members of the press, he is grateful for all the support he has received. "I can't say enough good things about the people at Scunci for stepping up in support of our team. Neither can my wife. Scunci has given her tons of hair accessories, including their new USTYLE product, and I honestly don't know who is more excited!"
