DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Stacy Compton and Buckshot Jones are among the drivers that will return to the Winston Cup Series in next weekend's Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Compton has been entered to drive Morgan-McClure Motorsports' No. 4 Kodak Pontiac in the 17th race of the 36-event season. Morgan-McClure used Johnny Miller at Infineon Raceway and, after testing several drivers this week settled on Compton for Daytona.

Compton has 87 Winston Cup starts in his career, but has been racing full time in the Busch Series this year. He won the Bud Pole Award at the most recent Busch Series event, at Kentucky Speedway, and finished fourth. He is 14th in the Busch standings.

Jones will drive owner James Finch's No. 09 Miccosukee Dodge, a car that has been driven into the top 10 at Daytona the last two seasons by Geoffrey Bodine and Mike Wallace.

Wallace is currently driving the No. 01 U.S. Army Pontiac replacing the injured Jerry Nadeau, so Finch opted for Jones, whose full-time Winston Cup stint ended last season when he was released by Petty Enterprises.

Mike Bliss, who is driving in the Busch Series for Joe Gibbs Racing, will drive a third entry from Gibbs' stable, a No. 80 Advair Chevrolet. Bliss, the 2002 Craftsman Truck Series champion who has 30 career Winston Cup starts, will attempt to make his first Winston Cup start since a single race last season.

Also attempting to make the race are Kerry Earnhardt and David Green, who have previously attempted starts this season; and Busch Series driver Shane Hmiel, who will attempt his Winston Cup debut driving for Petty Enterprises.

In addition, Wallace, Jeff Green and Larry Foyt, who all sat out at Infineon while their places were taken by road racing specialists, will return to their seats.
