Skinner knocks Biffle off Bud Pole at RIR

RICHMOND, Va. -- Mike Skinner won the Chevy Rock and Roll 400 Bud Pole on Friday. His lap of 125.792 came late in the session.

It is Skinner’s sixth career Bud Pole. Ironically, his last one came in this event in 1999.

Greg Biffle, in his second race with crew chief Doug Richert, was second at 125.646 mph.

Mark Martin, Biffle’s teammate, qualified third. Ryan Newman was fourth, and Jeff Gordon was fifth.

The Chevy Rock and Roll 400 gets under way Saturday night shortly after 8 p.m. ET.
