Here is a lap-by-lap account of the EA SPORTS 500 at Talladega Superspeedway:

Lap 188: Checkered flag. Michael Waltrip wins the EA SPORTS 500. Multi-car wreck after checkered flag.

Lap 187: White flag. Michael Waltrip holding on to the lead.

Lap 185: Green flag; restart with four laps to go.

Lap 184: Engines start up for caution lap. Michael Waltrip is the race leader.

Lap 183: The race is red-flagged. Ward Burton is the leader.

Lap 182: Amidst the battle for the lead, Elliott Sadler spins and goes airbourne and flips in a horrible crash. Safety crew arrives quickly to pull Sadler from the car.

Lap 180: Fierce back-and-forth battle for the lead between the leaders.

Lap 178: Michael Waltrip takes the lead from Kurt Busch, but Busch hooks up with teammate Mark Martin an retakes the lead.

Lap 175: Green flag; restart.

Lap 172: Kurt Busch leads after several drivers pit. Both Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart beat Dale Earnhardt Jr. off pit road.

Lap 170: Jeff Burton blows an engine. Caution for oil on the track. Bobby Labonte edges Junior for the lead just before caution flies.

Lap 169: Dale Earnhardt Jr. takes the lead.

Lap 159: Point leader Matt Kenseth loses his engine while racing for the lead. He heads to the garage. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has worked his way up to second.

Lap 158: Jimmie Johnson heads to the garage with possible engine failure.

Lap 157: Rusty Wallace takes the lead. It's getting "racy!"

Lap 154: Ward Burton leads.

Lap 150: Green flag; restart. Elliott Sadler is the leader after caution and pit stops.

Lap 144: A pit road incident involving Elliott Sadler and Jeff Green injures a No. 43 crewmember.

Lap 143: Caution is out. Leader Jimmie Johnson makes contact with Michael Waltrip and spins out. Waltrip is the new leader. Pit stops ensue.

Lap 130: Jimmie Johnson emerges as the leader after pit stops.

Lap 125: Another round of green-flag pit stops begins.

Lap 109: Elliott Sadler takes the lead.

Lap 106: Jeff Gordon retakes the lead.

Lap 104: Battle for the lead between Kevin Harvick and Elliott Sadler. Sterling Marlin heads to the garage with a possible blown engine.

Lap 95: Green flag; restart. Jeff Gordon retains the lead after pit stops and caution.

Lap 94: Buckshot Jones heads to the garage.

Lap 90: Caution out for Buckshot Jones -- blown tire.

Lap 89: Ryan Newman pits again after a tire goes down.

Lap 84: Another round of green-flag pit stops is under way.

Lap 80: Jeff Gordon remains the leader. There are 31 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 62: Struggling, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is lapped by the leaders.

Lap 54: Jeff Gordon takes the lead after pit stops followed by Elliott Sadler and Kurt Busch.

Lap 50: Green-flag pit stops begin. The lead cycles through the field.

Lap 45: Ward Burton takes the lead, drafting with Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 43: Michael Waltrip takes the lead from Buckshot Jones despite a troublesome car.

Lap 25: Buckshot Jones takes the lead.

Lap 18: Green flag; restart

Lap 17: Jamie McMurray maintains the lead after first round of pit stops.

Lap 14: Pit road opens. Several decide to pit for fuel and/or tires. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick get sheet metal damage in pit road incidents.

Lap 10: 1st caution. Wreck involving Johnny Benson, Jeremy Mayfield, Larry Foyt, Jimmy Spencer, Tony Raines and David Green. The incident was set off when Mayfield's left rear tire went down. Foyt transported to a local hospital for checkup.

Lap 6: Point leader Matt Kenseth up to 11th after starting 37th.

Lap 4: Jamie McMurray leads.

Lap 1: Green flag; Elliott Sadler leads the first lap.
