Johnson sets track record in qualifying

KANSAS CITY, KAN. -- Jimmie Johnson easily won the Banquet 400 Bud Pole on Friday, running a lap of 180.373 to set a new track record at Kansas Speedway.

The old record, 177.924 mph, was set last year by Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Mike Skinner was second at 179.647 mph. Earnhardt Jr. was third at 179.581 mph, and Bobby Labonte was fourth at 179.432 mph.
