CONCORD, N.C. -- Ricky Craven and Tide will be with PPI Motorsports for at least two more years, the team announced Saturday at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Craven signed an extension and will remain with Cal Wells' team through 2006. Meanwhile, officials from Tide made the announcement about its sponsorship at a team meeting at the track Saturday.
Craven joined PPI in 2001 and scored his first Winston Cup victory that year, winning at Martinsville Speedway. Craven didn't win in 2002 but scored a thrilling victory over Kurt Busch earlier this season at Darlington.
"There's no doubt that Ricky Craven has helped bring both success and stability to our relatively young NASCAR program," said Wells, who came to NASCAR in 2000. "Ricky's experience and ability have contributed greatly to the progress we've made as a single-car team. We are pleased that Ricky will remain a large part of that progress as we look toward the future."
Craven is 24th in the points standings, with three top-fives and eight top-10s.
"I'm very proud to be part of the Tide team, and I'm excited about our future," Craven said. "We've already established some pretty incredible milestones together, and I'm looking forward achieving even more of our goals as a team in the years to come."
