Truex championship merchandise debuts

Remember when the first Kasey Kahne merchandise hit the market? You procrastinated about buying, and before you knew it, Kahne was a major star. Now his early collectibles are commanding such a high price on the secondary market that you might need a second mortgage just to purchase a few pieces.

Brace yourself, that same phenomenon could be in the works. Martin Truex Jr. has "can't miss" written all over him. Plus, he has the DEI connection-which could be a definite plus in the collectibles market.

Leading off the line-up is a beautiful 8" x 10" color photo of Truex clutching the NASCAR Busch Series championship trophy after clinching the title at Darlington on November 13. Produced by Action Racing, this is an extremely limited edition photo-only 1008 are being offered.

Chase Authentics has already released a selection of Truex 2004 NASCAR Busch Series Champion garments, including: a cap, tee shirt, and hooded sweatshirt. Each features original artwork and the NASCAR Busch Series championship logo.

The NASCAR.COM SuperStore also has three Truex 1:24 scale Action Performance die-casts in stock. The newest of these replicas is the No. 8 Bass Pro Shops Busch Series Champion Monte Carlo featuring a color chrome finish. The Bass Pro Shops paint scheme is displayed throughout the body of the car, with the Busch Champion logo featured on the hood.

Other die-casts available include the standard issue Long John Silver's, and Wrangler Chevrolet Monte Carlos that the youngster drove en route to his first major title.
