When you're hot, you're hot... on the track and in the collectibles market. And Rusty Wallace, fresh off a drought-snapping win at Martinsville, couldn't have picked a better time to be running his most unique special paint scheme in years.
As part of sponsor Miller Brewing's "Vote Miller" advertising campaign, Wallace's No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge will run a special paint scheme in several races during the month of May.
The "Vote Miller" Dodge will make its debut this weekend in the Auto Club 500 NASCAR Nextel Cup event at California Speedway.
"I'm all excited right now about getting to California," said Wallace. "I got this red, white and blue (paint scheme) with stars all over it. It's the Miller President of Beers paint scheme. It's got nothing to do with politics. It's going to be a funny thing that Miller's doing. I don't know if you've seen their ad campaign behind it right now on television, but it's kind of a quirky thing.
"Miller Lite is just flying off the shelves right now. Their low carb advertising is doing great. They're all pumped up, and I'm going to have a star spangled banner uniform on out in California. The cars are going to be red, white and blue, so you're going to have to check that thing out."

The colorful graphics package will return to the race track two weeks later when NASCAR's top division rolls into Lowe's Motor Speedway for May race weeks. Wallace will run the paint job in both the NASCAR Nextel Challenge All-Star race on May 22 and the Coca-Cola 600 on May 30.
Action Performance, which holds an exclusive license to produce Rusty Wallace die-cast, is replicating the No. 2 Miller Lite/Vote Miller Dodge in a variety of scales. Look for it in the NASCAR.COM SuperStore.
"Now in his 15th season behind the wheel of Miller-backed stock cars, Rusty Wallace is an embodiment of Miller and its Miller Lite brand," said Fred Wagenhals, Action's chairman, president and CEO. "When there is a special No. 2 Miller Lite race car on the track, Rusty's fans always look forward to a great paint scheme - and an even more memorable die-cast."

Two of the year's best looking special paint jobs have been assigned to the No. 29 RCR Monte Carlo piloted by Kevin Harvick.
At Texas on April 4, Harvick piloted a vibrant blue Ice Breakers Liquid Ice paint scheme that was arguably the most eye-catching car on the track. The California native will once again be trading paint in the NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge when his car sheds its traditional look in favor of a predominantly black and red Snap-On Tools paint scheme. Action replicas of both cars are now in stock at the NASCAR.COM SuperStore.
