DuPont Nomex jeans offer flame resistance

Workers looking for stylish, lightweight denim jeans that also can provide electric arc or flash fire protection will find that denim with DuPont™ Nomex® offers exceptional performance. These jeans were featured last year at the 91st National Safety Council Congress and Exposition in Chicago.

With an arc rating of 13 calories per square centimeter, denim jeans of Nomex® exceed the minimum requirements for NFPA 70E Category 2 protective garments. Denim jeans of Nomex® are three times more breathable than similar flame resistant (FR) treated cotton jeans, making them more comfortable to wear on the job site. They are also more durable than comparable FR-treated cotton offerings. Trap tear tests reveal that denim jeans of Nomex® are 190 percent stronger than FR-treated cotton garments.

This comfortable denim has the look and feel of everyday jeans, yet offers the superior thermal protection workers have come to expect from Nomex®. The exceptional FR protection offered by denim jeans of Nomex® cannot be washed out or worn away. Offered in blue denim with a soft hand, these jeans combine the perfect balance of rugged appeal with ease of movement for a casual, relaxed feel.
