CONCORD, N.C. -- Lowe's Motor Speedway has a distinctive legacy of memorable racing forged on a track layout that is now among the fastest in NASCAR.

Heading into the arduous Coca-Cola 600, Jimmie Johnson has the backing of a Lowe's Motor Speedway legend, the local Hendrick Motorsports organization. Starting from the pole puts Johnson in prime position to defend his 2003 Coca-Cola 600 title and add to Lowe's statistical history.
