A pair of Chase for the Nextel Cup contenders -- Jimmie Johnson and Elliott Sadler -- were penalized for speeding on pit road.

Matt Kenseth crashed early and finished 32nd, 81 laps down.

NASCAR.COM's Mark Spoor says Ward Burton was the surprise leader in Saturday's Happy Hour practice session, slightly faster than Kasey Kahne.

Kahne crashed while leading at Dover in the spring, handing the win to Mark Martin.

Mayfield also won the Bud Pole at Dover in June. He became the first driver in 24 years to sweep the Bud Poles at Dover.

Brian Vickers crashed in practice but rebounded in Bud Pole Qualifying, while Terry Labonte crashed during Bud Pole Qualifying.
