ROCKINGHAM, N.C. -- Johnny Benson earned the Busch pole for Saturday's Busch Series Goody's Headache Powder 200 at North Carolina Speedway.

Benson toured the 1.017-mile oval in 23.903 seconds and a speed of 153.169 miles per hour, earning his first career pole in the Busch Series.

Benson did start first once in 1995, the year he won the series championship. However, the lineup for that race -- also held at Rockingham -- was set by owner points.

David Stremme will join Benson on the front row after posting a lap in 24.015/152.455.
