ROCKINGHAM, N.C. -- Busch Series pole-winner Johnny Benson will move to the rear of the field for today's Goody's Headache Powder 200 after failing post-qualifying inspection Friday evening.
The right front coil spring on Benson's No. 1 Dodge was determined to be only 4 1/4 coils, rather than the required 4 1/2 coils.
Benson, the 1995 Busch Series champion, had never won a Busch Pole before Friday's effort.
As a result, David Green, who qualified third, will start from the Busch pole.
The Goody's Headache Powder 200 gets underway at 1 p.m. ET.
