Bliss is the third first-time Busch Pole winner in three races so far this season.

Bliss toured the 1.5-mile oval in 31.535 seconds at a speed of 171.238 miles per hour. Bobby Hamilton Jr. and Kasey Kahne tied for the second-fastest lap at 31.570/171.048, but Hamilton Jr. will start second because he had the higher owner point total from the 2003 season.
