FONTANA, Calif. -- Stacy Compton has two career starts in the NASCAR Busch Series at the 2-mile California Speedway. His best finish was a 10th in 2002.
"We tested at California and came away very happy. Ford has been working real hard in the wind tunnel and a lot of that information is starting to make sense to us. We've improved our cars so much since the beginning of the season, and the California Speedway, with its wide and flat banking should be a perfect place to put everything we've learned into place. As a team, I can't remember looking forward to a race any more than this one."
"When you have a flat tire and avoid two big wrecks like we did at Talladega, it's real easy to get down. A week before that, we blew a tire coming onto pit road, and we lost two laps in the process. And yet everyone is still upbeat because we're taking better cars to the racetrack each week. It's only a matter of time before we shake this bad luck and start getting the kind of results we deserve."
