MADISON, Ill. -- Stacy Compton has two career starts in the NASCAR Busch Series at the 1.25-mile Gateway International Raceway. His best finish was a sixth last year.
"This is a real good time for this race team to hit a track like Gateway. A flat track also presents a greater challenge to a race team because you need the complete package. The car has to be fast, but it has to be tough. You slide around a lot in the corners, so you want a car that will stay under you."
"We're coming off a third-place finish at California, and I think we're in position to make a significant run. The whole key is to be consistent. You have to be good enough to take advantage of good situations like we did last week and good enough to salvage good finishes when you're not in good situations. This is the best situation I've been in since I've been in NASCAR."
