Jason Leffler will make his 53rd NASCAR Busch Series start in the Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200 at Nazareth (Pa.) Speedway Sunday. Leffler has raced at the track on one occasion in a Busch Series car. He has also competed at the 1.0-mile track in Silver Crown events.
"The key word for Nazareth is compromise. It's a lot like Gateway in that the corners are distinctly different. At Gateway you have two different corners to worry about and in Nazareth there are three. Basically, you decide which corner is most important to you and you work on getting the car set up to handle the way you want it to in that one and then compromise on the others. It's also a flat track like Gateway, so we are bringing back the car we used there. We qualified there in the Top 10 and finished sixth, so we feel pretty good about what we have to work with.
"Qualifying is pretty important at this track. It's hard to pass so track position is everything. We've only qualified outside the Top-10 twice this season and we're really proud of that. Everything is really coming together with this team. Bootie and the guys have worked really hard to put together some great cars and we're really having a good time right now. We need to keep being as consistent as we have been during the last month or so, so we can get back up to where we think we belong in the points. Right now it seems like it's the same people running up there in the Top 10 every week and we need to be in the position every week to take advantage of what could be a good points day in case those guys that are ahead of us in points have problems. We snuck into the Top-10 after the race in Richmond and we plan to do everything we can to stay there."
