NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Clint Bowyer returns to the driver's seat of the No. 21Reese's Chevrolet this weekend after a two-week hiatus. Bowyer last drove the car at Nazareth Speedway in May. Bowyer's exciting run in the April race at Nashville has given the team plenty of excitement as they return to the 1.5-mile facility.
"I love the track. There's just something about it that makes it a lot of fun to drive. I've had some good runs there, and unfortunately came up a little bit short there in the spring. I can't wait to get back there and race on Saturday night under that lights, like racing is meant to be."
"This is my time to try and put it all together. The three tracks that we're going to are all tracks that I think I'll be comfortable at. Obviously we've got Nashville where I've been, but we're testing at Kentucky, and I've been to a couple of tracks in the Midwest similar to Milwaukee. I've got a great team and great race cars, it'll all be good in June."
While on a recent trip to Hershey, Pa., Bowyer was asked, "If you could pick one track that you could race on every week, what would it be?" Without hesitation, Bowyer quickly responded, "Nashville, without a doubt!"
Clint Bowyer likes the Nashville Superspeedway, and it is easy to see why. Bowyer finished second there in his first career ARCA race. He had another strong run there in the NASCAR Touring Series and nearly won the spring Busch Series race. Bowyer credits his performance at Nashville Superspeedway for helping Richard Childress notice him.
Bowyer will definitely have a busy month of June. He will compete in three Busch Series events, test at two tracks and fulfill several media and sponsor obligations along the way. After the month winds down, Bowyer will not drive the No. 21 Reese's Chevrolet again until July 31 at Pikes Peak International Raceway.
Bowyer has a 14-race schedule in the No. 21 Reese's Chevrolet, but he has also driven in a variety of other series in 2004. Bowyer has competed in the ARCA Series, the NASCAR West Series and the NASCAR Weekly Series and has tested NASCAR Craftsman Trucks. Bowyer will add a few more series to his resume this year as he continues to gain more seat time.
Bowyer has been a long time Radio Controlled car fan and has an RC truck. After a conversation with Craftsman Truck Series driver Carl Edwards, Bowyer decided to try his luck with an RC airplane. Edwards, a RC airplane owner, gave Bowyer some pointers before Bowyer made his purchase. Bowyer will now be a threat to the skies over Lake Norman, N.C.
