Jason Keller: Federated Auto Parts 300 preview

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Jason Keller looks back at the spring race at Nashville Superspeedway with dismay. Keller was running in the 12th position when he reported to crew chief, Wes Ward that he felt like he had a right front tire going down.

Keller was forced to come down pit road and pit for four fresh tires. He would lose two laps on the stop, but that wouldn't be the worst of his problems for the day. As Keller sat in 13th position with five laps to go, the lead cars made contact with one another sending the field into a frenzy as cars collided with one another blocking the track.

Keller was rear ended by a fellow competitor causing heavy damage to his No. 22 Ford. The series veteran would cross the finish line in 13th position with the right side torn off his car and two flat tires.

The Miller High Life crew will be bringing car No. 10-07 to the track this weekend. This was the car Scott Riggs posted two victories with at Nashville Superspeedway. Riggs won with this car during the spring race in 2002 and the fall night race in 2003. Keller will be feeling the pressure this weekend, stepping into a car that has brought one driver two Gibson guitars. This weekend will be his chance to take a shot at the title.

"It's all about the trophy. I just want that Gibson guitar to add to my trophy case. I don't care that I'm not musically inclined; I just want to stare at it on the wall."

"Our finish at Dover wasn't what we expected. We qualified better than we thought, but the finish wasn't what we had hoped for. But not a bad weekend; we learned some things that will be helpful to us when we go back in the fall."

"It was aggravating in the spring race because the tires really only allowed for one racing groove. Hopefully this new tire will be better for the side by side racing we used to have there. The track has always allowed for two racing grooves and that's what makes Nashville such a fun track to race on; it will be interesting to see if we can get that back."
