HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- Former Busch Series champion David Green will drive the No. 27 Kleenex/Scott Products Ford in 2005 for Brewco Motorsports, team owner Clarence Brewer announced Friday.

The move marks the reorganization of the longtime Busch Series operation, as well as a manufacturer switch, from General Motors to Ford.

Green's No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolets and Pontiacs have raced into fifth in points heading into Saturday's season finale Ford 300.

The 2005 season will be the second consecutive year in which Brewco has undergone a manufacturer switch. Following Pontiac's withdrawal from the sport after the '03 season, Brewco ran GM's Chevy and Pontiac nameplates this season.

"I look forward to working with a sponsor that connects to every household and family in the world," Green said. "I can't wait to show you what a potent team we have for next season.

"Having won a championship in 1994 and coming so close last year, I'm dedicated and more focused than ever in 2005 to get a second one. It's my number one priority to take my new team to the championship table in 2005."

Green, the 1994 Busch Series titlist, has six top-five and 16 top-10 finishes in 33 starts, but has not won since October 2003 at Kansas Speedway.

Johnny Sauter raced the No. 27 car this season to 18th in the standings, with four top-fives and eight top-10s. He announced recently he would drive for owner James Finch in 2005.

The 2005 season is parent company Kimberly-Clark's 11th season as a Busch sponsor.

"I'm proud that Kimberly-Clark has the confidence in Brewco to continue their program with our organization," Brewer said. "They're a great sponsor to work with and we're looking forward to carrying on our relationship with them.

"We've made several changes for next season in hopes of bringing them a championship. We've got a new manufacturer, a new motor program and a driver change. 2005 should be a great year for all of us."

A Brewco spokesman said the organization was close to announcing a sponsorship and driver program for the team's second car. At that time, the exact configuration of the team in terms of crew chiefs Newt Moore and Stewart Cooper, will be determined.

Jason Ratcliff, who was Green's crew chief, is leaving Brewco to go to work for Joe Gibbs Racing, the spokesman said, following the season.

"Besides being a phenomenal driver, David Green is a terrific father and husband to his family," sponsor representative John Cook said. "Kimberly-Clark couldn't ask for a better driver to wear our colors. He's truly a class act and we're excited to have him racing for our first championship."
