In conjunction with its season-ending top 10 lists, NASCAR.COM asked a number of drivers to answer the same 10 questions. Monday: Kyle Busch Martin Truex Jr., who burst on the scene by winning the 2004 Busch Series championship in dominant fashion, is aiming at trying to duplicate the feat of his team co-owner, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Truex, 24, will try to win his second consecutive Busch title for Chance 2 Motorsports while also running up to seven Nextel Cup races in 2005. But first, Truex took time to sit down on the eve of accepting his kudos for his Busch title to answer 10 questions not specifically directed at his racing career. 1. What's your dream vehicle that you don't already own? Well, all I own now is a pickup, so it could be a lot of things. But I've always liked the '69 Camaro. An SS 396 sounds good. 2. If time on the road weren't an issue, what would be your ideal pet? A dog. It would probably be a Golden Retriever. 3. What's your biggest pet peeve while driving on the road? I have a lot of them (laughing). There's a lot of people out there that don't know how to drive (but) one of the biggest ones is going slow in the fast lane. 4. What's your worst hotel experience? I haven't really had any bad hotel experiences. 5. What's your favorite food? Seafood. I guess it would figure, with the family business. I grew up on seafood (laughing). 6. If you had to make a choice: being honest or being nice? That depends a lot on the situation, I think, but if I had to go with one I'd probably go with honest. 7. What's your fondest childhood memory? One of the coolest memories? I've had so many of 'em, it's hard to pick just one. Racing? Seashore? I wouldn't want to pick just one. I don't know. I told you I'm not good at these questions -- this is tough (laughing). 8. What would your dream date be? Where and with whom? There's so many fine women out there that I'd like to go on a date with so I don't know. If I had a girlfriend I could really score some points with this one, but I don't (laughing). I don't know -- let me think about that one. 9. What's your worst prank, either perpetrated by you, or done to you? When I used to work at my dad's race shop there was a couple guys that worked there with me and one of them put Never Seize under the door handle of my truck. So I went to open my door and got Never Seize all over my hand and then it got all over me. It was just a mess. 10. What was your 'Welcome to NASCAR' moment? I would say just having an opportunity to do what I'm doing -- just having a shot with Chance 2 Motorsports. |
