INDIANAPOLIS/CHARLOTTE -- NASCAR.COM's Elliott Gordon is spending Sunday with Robby Gordon, following his attempt to run both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in the same day. What follows is his report:

NOTE: All times are eastern

10:02 p.m. -- Robby Gordon finishes 20th, three laps down, in the Coca-Cola 600

8:25 p.m. -- With 100 laps to go in the Coca-Cola 600, Robby Gordon is running 25th 2 laps down

7:15 p.m. -- Robby Gordon -- and backup driver Jaques Lazier -- get credit for finishing 29th in the Indianapolis 500

6:09 p.m. -- Robby Gordon goes a lap down to race leader Jimmie Johnson on Lap 46 of the Coca-Cola 600

5:44 p.m. -- Green flag for Coca-Cola 600

5:36 p.m. -- Drivers start their engines for the Coca-Cola 600 by the 1st Cavalry Division direct from Iraq.

4:38 p.m. -- Robby Gordon arrives at Lowe's Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600.

"I am obviously disappointed that I didn't get to finish the Indianapolis 500. We worked hard all month to have a good race car and felt good about our chances for a solid run in our Chevrolet-powered Dallara.

"But now we are at Lowe's Motor Speedway and our focus is on this No. 31 Cingular Wireless Chevrolet Monte Carlo. I had a good practice here yesterday morning, so I feel comfortable we will have a good race tonight."

3:40 p.m. -- Robby Gordon has missed the pre-race drivers' meeting a Charlotte. He'll start the Coca-Cola 600 from the rear of the field.

3:20 p.m. -- Gordon is on a plane heading to Charlotte

3:15 p.m. -- The Indianapolis 500 is delayed by rain after 29 laps

2:10 p.m. -- Robby Gordon takes the green flag 18th in the Indianapolis 500

2:04 p.m. -- Mary Hulman George gives command to start engines

2:03 p.m. -- Jim Nabors sings "Back Home Again in Indiana"

1:09 p.m. -- Purdue's band is playing. Loads of celebrities here. We've seen Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Andrew Firestone, Rupert from "Survivor" and some more. The cars are being lined up.

12:22 p.m. -- It is currently just overcast. The cars are being paraded to tech and out to the grid. Robby must get out of the car at 3:45 in order to make it back to Charlotte.

According to sources close to the team, if it downpours again, the race probably will be postponed and run tomorrow. In that case, Gordon would return to run the Indianapolis 500 in its entirety.

11:46 a.m. -- Drivers were called to green room for meeting. Estimates, if weather holds, say green flag could be around 1:15.

11:41 a.m. -- Track drying in progress

10:49 a.m. -- Official sources have reported that the radar is looking good with scattered showers still possible. The cars were out on the grid but were taken off due to weather and to dry the track. They could potentially have the track available in two hours.

The weather could force Gordon into a decision within an hour or so on whether or not he will need to put Jaques Lazier in his car in order to make it back to Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600.

10:07 a.m. -- Spoke too soon. It is raining at the airport.

10:04 a.m. -- The fan plane has landed at Indianapolis airport. It is partly cloudy and 66 degrees. There are some wet spots on the ground from earlier rain, but it is mostly dry. We will soon be getting on buses with a police escort to the track.

7:49 a.m. -- Hooters Air flight 9252 boards and heads for Indy. Early indications are that rain has just stop falling at the track and it takes approximately three hours to dry, putting the start in jeopardy if it continues.

5:30 a.m. -- After spending last night at his Busch Series shop signing autographs and meeting fans, Gordon jetted off to Indy for two more appearances.

Close to 200 fans arrived at Lowe's Motor Speedway about a half hour ago to get on four buses bound for the airport and the subsequent flight to Indianapolis.
